Working Foreman - Road Department

Morrow County Public Works has an opening for a full-time Working Foreman. Under the limited supervision of the Assistant Road Master, the Working Foreman provides supervision and direction to the road crew employees as a project supervisor and decision-maker. The Working Foreman can be assigned projects such as paving, chip sealing, bridge repairs and maintenance, sign maintenance, pavement markings, vegetation management, emergency road repairs, and other tasks. The foreman position is also required to perform daily safety meetings with their assigned crew in relation to the task at hand, hazard awareness, and equipment training. Also, this position performs a variety of work with the various pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to: grader, loader, backhoe, bulldozer, three-axle dump truck, snowplow, paver, sanding truck, water truck, and chip spreader. In addition, this position installs signs, flags, and performs routine daily maintenance on equipment. Pay range $4186 - $5343 monthly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience - Eight years of experience in heavy construction, road construction, or equivalent.
2. Three years of experience in the operation of two of the following pieces of equipment: front end loader, excavator or bulldozer. Experience must also include three months of operating a grader.
OR
3. Successful completion of a training course in the operation of heavy equipment and six months experience in the operation of two of the following pieces of equipment: front end loader, excavator, or bulldozer. Experience must also include three months of operating a grader.
4. One year of experience supervising construction projects and related staff.
5. Equipment used - road grader, bulldozer, roller, paver, chip spreader, self-propelled paint striper, distributor, tractor-trailer truck, pug mill, backhoe, dump truck with a pup.
SALARY: $4,186/per month. Excellent benefits offered, including retirement.
